About 33” in length excluding the waistband
Notes:
- Pattern is worked in rounds.
- Add 24/48 chains to make the skirt in larger sizes.
- To put it simply, a treble is stitched on top of a treble and a tall V-stitch is stitched on top of a tall V-stitch.
- You may skip other rounds and increases depending on the length of the skirt that you want.
Stitches used:
Ch -chain
ss – slip stich
hdc- half double crochet
dc- double crochet
tr- treble Tall V-Stitch – (treble, sc, treble) all in one stitch
Double Tall V-Stitch (tr, sc, tr, sc, tr, sc, tr) all in one stitch
Fishnet Pattern
Ch multiple of 6 + 3 , ss in the first ch to join
Round 1 – ch 8, *(sk 5 chains, tr in next ch, ch 5, sk 5 chains, tall V-stitch in the next ch, ch 5) repeat * around ending with ch 5, sk 5 ch, tr in the st where the beginning ch started; ch 1, ss in the fourth ch of the beginning ch (forming a tall V-stitch) . turn.
Round 2 – ss in the (middle) ch of the tall V-stitch. Ch 8 *(sk 5 chains, tr in next st, ch 5, sk 5 chains, tall V-stitch in the ch-sp of the previous V-stitch, ch 5) repeat * around ending with sk 5 ch, tr in the st where the beginning ch started; ch 1, ss in the fourth ch of the beginning ch (forming a tall V-stitch), turn.
Gauge 7 rounds = about 6”
INSTRUCTIONS
Chain 195, ss in the first ch to join
Rounds 1 -2 Follow the fishnet pattern ( 16 tall V-stitches)
Round 3- 8 Repeat Round 2 (16 tall V-stitches)
At this point, you may cut the yarn and use another color or you may continue with your present yarn.
Round 9 – ss in the (middle) ch of the tall V-stitch. Ch 8 , *(sk 5 chains, tr in next st, ch 5, sk 5 chains, double V-Stitch in the ch-sp of the previous V-stitch, ch 5); repeat * one more time; Sk 5 ch, tr in the next st, ch 5, sk 5 ch, double V-Stitch in the ch-sp of the previous V-stitch, ch 5) **[ *( sk 5 chains, tr in next st, ch 5, sk 5 chains, tall V-stitch in the ch-sp of the previous V-stitch, ch 5, ); repeat * two more times; Sk 5 ch, tr in the next st, ch 5, sk 5 ch, double V-Stitch in the ch-sp of the previous V-stitch, ch 5) ] repeat ** around ending with sk 5 ch, tr in the st where the beginning ch started; ch 1, ss in the fourth ch of the beginning ch (forming a tall V-stitch), turn. Round 10-Repeat Round 2 of pattern. When you reach the double tall V- stitch : tall V-stitch on the first V-stitch, ch 5, tr on the next ch, ch 5, tall V-stitch on the next V-stitch. Check the diagram.
Rounds 11-16 Repeat Round 2 of pattern. (optional: cut off yarn and change color)

Round 34 – repeat round 10
Rounds 35-39 Repeat Round 2 of pattern.
Round 40 shell edging **[sc in ch-sp of tall V-stitch, *(hdc, dc, 5tr, dc, hdc) all in the ch-5 sp) sc in the tr, repeat *] repeat ** around. Fasten off and weave in ends.
Waistband
Round 1 ss in any ch-sp in the beginning ch, ch 1, *(5hdc in ch-5 sp, hdc in the next st) repeat * around. ss in the first hdc to close. (192 hdc)
Rounds 2-3 ch 2 (counted as dc), dc in each hdc around. ss on the second ch to close.
Round 4 working in back loop only, ch 2(counted as dc), dc in each dc around, turn (do not ss to close to create opening for the elastic band.
Rounds 5-6 ch 2, dc in each dc around, turn. Fasten off after round 6.
Fold (putting together rounds 1 and 6) and use the tapestry needle and the matching yarn to sew the edge of the waistband. Insert the elastic and sew the two ends together using thread and needle.
